Blame it on Fidel /

It is 1970 and nine-year old Anna is not amused, seemingly overnight her bourgeois family have decided to abandon their middle class life and transform into leftist radicals.

Gone is the salubrious family pad, gone are the new clothes and, humiliatingly, gone is Anna's beloved catechism class. In their place is a cramped apartment filled with bearded revolutionaries, demonstrations and refugee nannies with strange cooking habits. Meanwhile Anna fights back with the few resources she can command.

Midge Ure

8pm - Tickets £14
An artist who has received Ivor Novello, Grammy, BASCAP awards along with a flotilla of gold and platinum records, really needs little introduction.

The fact that by the time Midge's single "If I Was" went to No1 in 1985 he had already crammed several musical lifetimes into a 10 year career speaks volumes - Slik, The Rich Kids, Thin Lizzy, Visage, Ultravox and Band Aid.

Combining his own classic hits with a selection of songs that have been a major influence on him along with a smattering of personal reflections, all done in an acoustic format, it should certainly provide an entertaining evening’

SUNDAY 18

HOME

A massive meeting of students from Settle College, Settle and Ingleton Middle Schools, community jazz ensemble Dales Jam and soloist Tim Garland. They will work with musical director and multi instrumentalist Richard Ormrod in a series of Jazz Workshops during April & May, leading up to this concert. Hopefully the roof will be well attached as there could be 50 musicians all blowing at once, so come along and support the youth of the area.

The whole event is made possible by North Yorkshire Music Action Zone and Jazz Yorkshire.
